  • TRAINING

    broken image
We advise all participants to ensure that they are physically prepared to take part in hiking event. Ensuring you have the correct kit is a great place to start! It may sound obvious but do give yourself time to break in your new boots, get used to using your walking poles and wearing your rucksack with your water supply fitted. On a lighter note, we are encouraging all teams to sport their best tartan for the day, a prize will be given for the best dressed Clan!

  • KIT LIST

Below is our suggested kit list for the event, we strongly recommend you purchase sturdy walking boots which have been fitted and worn a few times before the hike. The terrain is uneven, and the boots will provide you with essential support throughout the hike.

    • Sturdy Walking Boots (trainers are not suitable)
    • Walking socks - we recommend 2 pairs of woollen socks so you can change half-way through
    • Waterproofs – you can never tell what the weather will be like!
    • Rucksack – we recommend one with straps to help distribute the weight
    • Walking poles – these are a great help with the hills!
    • Walking trousers, prevent chaffing and allow movement when climbing hills
    • Wicking Top
    • Fleece
    • Waterproof/Sun Hat
    • Warm gloves if weather is cold
    • Camel pack or refillable water bottle
    • Blister plasters, Zinc Oxide tape, Vaseline
    Don’t forget your tartan accessories!
